ACT! Contact Management Program

ACT! is a contact management program that was produced by Symantec Software but has now been transferred to Interact Commerce Corporation. It is a database program that combines the ability to track contacts the way that you want to and you can customize it to handle information that is needed for operations of your office. You can also attach faxed files from WinFax Pro, and scanned documents from Visioneer Paperport. You also have the ability to keep notes, write letters in Microsoft Word that will remain in the client files, send and recieve E-Mail from your clients that will link into their file and many other things.

Contained on this page are two patch files that enable the program to work with Microsoft Outlook 2000 and Microsoft Word 2000. You must first have ACT! 4.0 installed, then to install these patch files, first use the file act402.exe, then install actw2k.exe.

There are also two Adobe Acrobat documents that contain the manuals and administrative management documentation.

The following utility files are available for downloading.

WinZIP

This contains the program files for WinZIP. The current file available for download is WinZIP 8.0. WinZIP is the easiest way to archive files for transfer across the internet, on floppy disks or whatever. It also allows you to open the files and even view them without unzipping the files. This is a MUST HAVE file. Also on the site is a program that can be run to generate the registration number for you.

SELL!

This contains the program files for SELL! The individual modules that you may need for updating or repairing your program are in individual files that can can be downloaded separately. Make sure that you also download the WinZIP file so that you can unzip the files.

I recommend creating a subdirectory named Sell. Then unzip the files into that directory. You then should create subdirectories within the Sell subdirectory with the following titles:

Once those directories have been created you can then unzip each module into the appropriate directory.

Special Software Files that are available for downloading

The following Special Software files are available for downloading.

Microsoft Office 97 Viewer utilities.

This contains the program files for installing Microsoft Office 97 Viewer utilities. They are separate and include Microsoft Word Viewer, Microsoft Excel Viewer and Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer. You may download all three or just the one that you desire. These files are self executing files, meaning that when you download them, you simply double-click on the file and it will install into a directory of your choice.

Although these are of the 97 version, they will read documents that are produced in Office 2000 as well.
